Ukrainian forces reportedly conducted limited counteroffensives in Kharkiv, advancing towards Izyum and further dividing Russia’s attention from fighting in southern Ukraine and the Donbas.
Western intelligence has frequently commented on the difficult task Russia faces in organizing its troops across a vast frontline, even in places it cannot readily access due to Ukrainian strikes. As more Ukrainian forces advance upon and even encircle Russian positions in the south and north, Russia will continue to be forced to make choices as to where to focus its attention, which will have severe impacts on its ability to advance/hold terrain in other regions.
