Russo-Ukrainian War 9/16/22

Ukrainian forces have crossed the Oskil river, even as Russia pursues costly attacks from Donetsk.

Despite the initial push towards Kyiv, Kherson, and Kharkiv, the frontlines of the Donbas remained largely intact during the initial outbreak of war, given the large number of Ukrainian forces there. Since, Donetsk has remained in Ukrainian artillery range, a blunder that Russia has possibly used for its own propaganda purposes. However, as Ukraine now pushes along Kherson and Kharkiv, Russia seems to continue with its intention to advance in the Donbas, despite heavy losses for relatively minor gains in June being a significant factor as to the rapid collapse around Izyum.
