Ukraine’s government confirmed the ongoing success of the counteroffensive in southern Ukraine without shedding too much light on what has become a secretive operation.
With Russian sources giving the vast majority of information on the offensive, developments have not been verifiable, and it is not immediately clear just how effective the counteroffensive has been.
However, Russian sources have been continually degrading their projection, offering a more sober analysis of the war day by day. This trend seems to indicate a growing Ukrainian success that mirrors close sources from Ukraine, though it is still believed that the offensive will play out slowly in favor of a battle of attrition through the winter.
