Russo-Ukrainian War 8/21/22

Recent donations of high-precision shells and missilery to Ukraine indicate a growing Western military commitment to the war, with the U.S. and Germany providing ‘Excalibur’ and ‘Vulcano’ munitions to better target Russian positions.

Though U.S. weaponry still seems far out of reach of Crimea (both in regards to range and legality), it is likely that Ukraine will begin a stiff push for Kherson using these weapons. If anything, Ukraine will continue to hold the Donbas, which has been met with no significant Russian advances in the last few weeks.

Ukraine’s growing momentum in Kherson is controlled entirely by the West’s providing of materiel, a source which some Ukrainian officials claim is too sporadic. Yet Western assistance will likely continue to escalate in turn with what they are willing to provide.
